Passport Renewal: Pt 2

I should have posted How Long Does It Take To Renew A U.S. Passport By Mail a lot sooner.  I would have, if I had known that as soon as the post went up I’d get an email with an updated on my application process.

As soon as the post went up, I received an email saying:

“We have finished processing your passport, and it has been printed.

Your passport application locator number is ———-.

You requested delivery by regular mail. Passport Agencies use Priority Mail. This means you should receive your passport on or about 06/26/2019.”

I was super surprised that the estimated date of delivery they gave me was perfectly accurate. On June 26th I got my brand new passport!

Also, almost a week later I received my old passport. They punctured some holes in the booklet so it will be easily recognizable as “invalid” and cannot be used for travel. I don’t care, I’m just really happy to have both booklets so I can continue to see my passport stamp collection grow!

I hope this information is helpful to all travelers out there in the process of renewing their passports for the first time! If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to let me know in the comments below. Safe travels to everyone out there!
